Multikultur hus

The Multicultural House is beautifully situated on Sønderborg’s harborfront, offering views of the two bridges. It was inaugurated on November 3, 2017. The house combines old and new, as the historic Ewers Warehouse has been renovated and integrated into the new, modern building, together forming the Multicultural House.

The Multicultural House is part of Frank Gehry’s masterplan for Sønderborg’s harborfront. Designed by AART Architects, it consists of a 4,300 square meter new building and the 1,200 square meter warehouse. Groundbreaking for the Multicultural House took place in spring 2015, and it was completed in November 2017.

In addition to an art school, libraries, and a café, the Multicultural House offers:

• An exhibition space featuring contemporary art by professional artists.
• Well-equipped study spaces for individuals and groups.
• Meeting rooms and a hall available for booking by associations, private individuals, and groups. The spaces cannot be used for commercial purposes or private parties. Bookings can be made via the online webbook system.
