Hotel Alsik

Alsik is part of Frank Gehry's masterplan
The masterplan for the development of Sønderborg’s harborfront was created by award-winning Canadian architect Frank Gehry. Alsik, which opened in early summer 2019, is a key element of Gehry’s masterplan, which also includes commercial and residential buildings, green recreational spaces, a multicultural house, dynamic urban spaces, and more.

With its 24,800 square meters, 70 meters in height, and 19 floors, Alsik is the largest hotel in the Danish-German border region and one of the largest hotels in Denmark. The hotel is located on Sønderborg’s beautiful historic harborfront, where modern architecture, innovative construction, and impressive art meet the echoes of history, the city’s vibrant energy, and the unique nature along Flensburg Fjord.
